The smelling salts surprised me. That's a real adrenaline spike, and players have made it a pregame ritual. The Rohto study stuck with me too, using a calming green scent at halftime to bring the tension down. I'd want to know why more clubs haven't tried it.

It wouldn’t surprise me if in fact they are and there’s just no media coverage about it.

Yes! A little different because people are more tightly packed and there's no grass, but the smell of rubber from the shoes hitting the court. But the sensory experience is exhilarating for sure. What a game last night!!!

Fascinating. The idea of the Restful Green is so interesting. I'm a horse girl and recently made a mail & tail conditioning/shine spray and added some (v light) scent to it so that even if it's placebo we get a hit of (horse safe) lavender & spearmint before we walk into the show ring. Curious if there are other examples of this in competetive sports.
