Practices in Smelling: Olfactory carving.
Really love this! I think this will be super helpful for my perfuming!!! 💓
I love that idea for a perfumery approach. Experiencing a material and waiting for it to reveal what it wishes to be paired with.
Excellent! Let me know how it goes.
Thank you for this wonderful reminder to just be with a scent. It's harder the more you learn about scents, and your body, but it's equally important.
I imagine the master carvers also learn the techniques and the nature of their tools and jade as a material, knowing how to best discover the art.
It feels like the eternal dance between knowing and feeling, understanding and experiencing, learning and absorbing, the structure and the art.
What a great contemplation to ponder!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it Hana! I agree that both ways are beneficial each in their own way. It’s a sort of ying and yang right?
Love this. It brings in a deeper level of intuition & connection, the way plants like to be communicated with.
